Oh, wow. New camera. I was impressed you stuck with your D40 longer than me, and I held on to mine for awhile. But eventually battery door doesn't close, internal flash is broken (not that I used it anyway), electronic aperture control broken, etc. So I felt I had to upgrade. But it had proved a very capable camera image-wise when used well. And you use it even better than me.

I was thinking of getting a 7100. I think when released it was (is?) really the best performance for the price in Nikon's line up.

I miss having 1/1000 flash sync, so I still have my barely working D40.
